Crafting an award-winning bespoke bottle for Ninefold Rum
Bespoke Bottle Design
Label Range Design
Production Management
After facing supply issues with their previous bottle, I was briefed by Ninefold to design a unique bespoke bottle and redesign the labelling to accommodate for the existing and future product ranges. The bottle design builds on the distinctive Ninefold seraph (the angel motif) and contemporary brand identity. It takes inspiration from angelic depictions of 'light from above', with the aim to translate this visually in the design of the bottle. The result is a design that both embodies the elegance of the rum and catches the light beautifully.
Sustainability is a key consideration for the distillery. As such, the bottle has been designed to use significantly less glass than the previous design. No plastic is used, a carryover in philosophy from the original bottle. Bottle closures are now 100% natural cork and use wood from FSC approved sources. The premium labels are printed on bagasse - a biproduct of processing sugar cane into molasses.
"Ed has very much been part of the Ninefold Distillery journey, from designing our original packaging, through to our full bespoke bottle and redesigned range that launched in 2022. Ed's hard work and attention to detail means there is no stone unturned in finding the best solution to any new packaging design"
